Regex does not work for identifying words from a string

I am currently working on an assignment that requires a program to read a given word from the keyboard, and to list the words from that sentence that are bigger than 4 letters in size. I am stuck trying to identify which words are too big. I am unable to figure out why my program only prints “abcdefghi”. When I remove the “” it prints the full word. When I remove the – it prints the length of the word. What am I doing wrong?

fragmented. I don’t want to have to deal with so many packages.

I have already created a Gnome 2.x panel using python and gtk to make my own
desktop like I like it.
