Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

AutoCAD 2018 22.0 [Win/Mac]

AutoCAD History

AutoCAD is a product of a series of acquisitions. Autodesk was founded in 1967 by John Walker in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The company was originally focused on providing engineering-based software. Walker realized that computer-aided design software could also be used to produce architectural drawings, so AutoCAD was first released in 1982, initially for the Macintosh. Although the Macintosh was not as popular as the IBM PC at that time, AutoCAD became one of the top-selling CAD programs. For most of the 1980s, AutoCAD was the only viable solution for a graphics-based, desktop CAD application on the PC platform.

In 1989 Autodesk launched AutoCAD LT, a low-end version of AutoCAD that ran on the PC and that could produce relatively inexpensive architectural CAD drawings. The new product was so successful that it inspired two other similar CAD products: ArchiCAD and Microstation. Autodesk acquired ArchiCAD in 1995 and Microstation in 1997. In 2006 Autodesk acquired SigmaPlot, an information visualization company, and in 2013 the company acquired 3ds Max, a leading 3D modeling, animation, and rendering software product.

In 1998 AutoCAD began providing a number of 3D modeling, animation, and rendering products. Through the purchase of Encore in 2000, AutoCAD acquired its first significant image-based 3D software product, Digital Project, which was subsequently renamed to Encore. AutoCAD also acquired Planet 3D, a highly successful service that combined a web-based CAD environment and a range of 3D modeling, animation, and rendering tools into one online suite. AutoCAD’s service model was expanded further in 2005 with AutoCAD Map 3D, which provided accurate map creation and editing tools. In 2014 AutoCAD released version 2014 and 2015, along with a new hardware platform, the Autodesk Forge.

In 2015, Autodesk announced that it would acquire the UGS (later Autodesk UGS Corporation) to strengthen its Civil and Transportation sectors. This included the construction management and building information modeling software firms Alibre Inc., and UGS Inc. As part of the acquisition, Autodesk extended the existing acquisition of Vectorworks in May 2015.

AutoCAD 2018 22.0 With Registration Code

AutoCAD includes standard, cross-platform tools and a library of 2,000 utilities called AutoLISP. The tool is able to automatically generate a set of component drawings for the parts of an entire drawing from a few instructions. Most features of the program can be accessed via scripting commands, while some are available via a menu bar, ribbon, and toolbars, including AutoCAD’s drawing and editing tools. For example, in 2D drawing, the simple erase command can be activated from the context menu.

A CAD program for Mac OS X called VectorWorks (formerly FastDraw) was a developer preview of a new release in early development of AutoCAD. VectorWorks was released in August 2006. Version 2.0 of VectorWorks includes several tools aimed specifically at the construction industry, including real-time and interactive 2D- and 3D-modeling, an interactive tool pallet, and 3D and 2D measuring tools. VectorWorks 2.0 includes a Dynamic Update feature that can be used to update user preferences to the newest version of the software and for connectivity with other VectorWorks users. VectorWorks also supports importing 3D models from most applications, including: SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk Inventor, 3ds Max, and Maya. VectorWorks can also import 2D models from most applications, including: SolidWorks, CorelDRAW, Dassault Systemes’ Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.

In addition to the standard toolbar and ribbon, VectorWorks 2.0 supports three user interface layouts: Classic (mouse-based interface), the Mercury menu bar (using the Super Key and menu bar) and a new touch screen interface. The classic mouse-based interface can be found in all of VectorWorks products, including the free toolset. The Mercury menu bar replaces the legacy toolbars and is the foundation of the new touch screen interface.

Since VectorWorks is based on C++, it is able to import some of the same file formats as AutoCAD LT. Because of this, AutoCAD LT is compatible with VectorWorks.

VectorWorks’ closest competitor is Inventor from Dassault Systemes. It has a similar price, but is proprietary and runs on Windows, not Mac OS X.

AutoCAD LT (from AutoCAD 2D) is AutoCAD for the Macintosh OS X operating system. Like AutoCAD, it was originally released in

Python – defining a new column name of an existing column

I want to define a new column name from an existing column of a data frame.
I have tried using astype but it is not working
What am I doing wrong?
import pandas as pd

ds = pd.read_csv(‘nbs_work_test.csv’)

print ds[‘Type’].astype(str).apply(lambda x: ‘Type_’+x.upper())

I believe what you want to do is:
ds[‘Type’] = ds[‘Type’].str.upper()

Because you want to replace the original data.

Finding $x$, $y$, $z$ given the angle $AO$ subtended by the triangle’s sides

A triangle is given the angle $AO$ subtended by its sides, namely $x$ is the length of side $OB$ (side opposite angle $A$), $y$ is the length of side $AC$ (side opposite angle $C$), and $z$ is the length of side $OC$ (side opposite angle $C$). If the value of $\angle{CBA}$ is $5°$ (in degrees), what is the value of $x$, $y$, and $z$ in terms of $A$, $B$, and $O$?
I need to take the square root of $x^2+y^2+z^2$.

Let $x = AB = AB’$, $y=OA = OC$, and $z=OC=OA’$ be given
Then, $\triangle A’O’C$ is isosceles and
$$\frac x{y+z} = \frac z{1+\frac{y}{x}}=\frac z{1+\frac{x}{z}} = \frac{x+y}{z+x} = \frac{(1+x)(1+y)}{(1+y)(1+x)}$$
$1+x = 1+y =

Use categories to quickly locate drawing tools and functions. Choose from among the categories: Layers, Block, View, Hide, Options, Units, and Extents.

Improved precision in certain operations. For example, the new Precision Draw command now distinguishes between the new model and non-model styles. When you apply a model style to a line, circular arc, or spline, the command adds a stroke at the center of the line, arc, or spline.

The new Intersection Tool method now displays and deletes the drawing objects intersected by the active object.

When the Dynamic Window is set to the My Selection option, you can select one of the dynamic windows in the drawing and quickly display only the objects in the selected dynamic window.

Expanded and enhanced geographic features.

Select, view, and enable or disable individual layers.

Quickly access an alternate layer with the new Layers panel in the right side bar.

Use the Drawing Parameter’s Current Layer field to select a layer, as shown in the drawing above.

Hide the top-most layer, which shows the drawings you have not yet finished.

Enable or disable layer visibility on a drawing.

Add a new layer when needed. You can also add a new layer by selecting Layer from the Layer panel in the left side bar.

Note: The Drawing Parameter’s Current Layer feature is now available in both new and existing drawings.
