Access 2003 brings new accessibility features to the latest version of Microsoft Access. Access 2003 delivers the following:
* New features to improve ease of use, usability, performance, and design in all types of databases
* New interfaces and wizards that make database design faster, easier, and more efficient
* New features to boost data integrity
* Improvements in support for Unicode
Note: The Access 2003 Conversion Toolkit is provided free of charge with full technical support for the Access 2002, Access 97, and Access 2000 platforms. You must install the toolkit on a Windows 2003 server or Windows 2000 server to access the database conversion services. You can use the conversion toolkit on any edition of Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows Server, and Windows XP.

Access 2003 came out a couple of years ago, and not long after, I began seeing posts and news about Access 2003 not supporting indexing on ODBC queries and similar sources. “Is it just me, or have others also experienced this?” I have indeed seen reports of this issue.

The issue was raised on MSDN at the time. I can’t remember the exact date, but I would venture to guess it’s sometime in 2009.

I haven’t personally experienced this issue and my database does not support indexing, but I thought it might be helpful to share this post here, as it was one of the many complaints I’ve read over the past few years.

Thanks for the article. I just downloaded the toolkit. I guess we have to learn to live with it. This is better than no support at all, I guess.

You have to know your database layout before the toolkit will work. It seems some databases just don’t work, so its better to know your database layout beforehand. If you have a local computer with no eea19f52d2
