THE JOURNEY WITH THE YOUNG WOMEN FROM THE NEWHOPE COOPERATIVE CONTINUES
Journey with New Hope is a project in collaboration with NewHope that continues to be successful. The project aims to harness women’s resilience, especially those who have experienced violence, oppression, and exploitation.
Our main objective is to facilitate the social and economic independence of the Cooperative so that it is self-sustaining, in order to set an example of ethical economic autonomy.
We also foresee creating a continuous action plan to raise public awareness about the exploitation of, and violence, against women.
The organizational characteristics, the small size and the specificity of the human resources of an already operational cooperative do not allow to think of a traditional training strategy. A long-term path has been identified in which training takes place according to a non-interrupting model by supporting the activities carried out daily by the cooperative. The sharing of skills takes place starting from the understanding of the models currently adopted and of the unexpressed potential in respect of the peculiarities, values and sensibilities of the cooperative’s resources
- Training and apprenticeship in tailoring
- Training and apprenticeship in marketing, and building communication and commercialization skills
- Training and apprenticeship in administrative and account management, refining the production process, implementation of production and sale activities, cost analysis.
